Butterfly valves feature a simple structure, compact size, and light weight, consisting of only a few components. Furthermore, they allow for rapid opening and closing—requiring only a 90-degree rotation—making operation straightforward. Concurrently, these valves exhibit excellent fluid control characteristics. When a flanged butterfly valve is in the fully open position, the thickness of the disc constitutes the primary resistance encountered by the fluid flowing through the valve body; consequently, the pressure drop generated across the valve is minimal, resulting in superior flow control performance. Butterfly valves are available in two distinct sealing configurations: resilient sealing and metal sealing. In valves utilizing resilient sealing, the sealing ring may be embedded within the valve body or affixed to the periphery of the disc.
Application: This valve is primarily designed for use as a shut-off valve; however, it can also be engineered to perform flow regulation functions, or to serve a dual role combining both shut-off and regulation capabilities.
